PhenolAcTwin Project Kicked Off Under the Coordination of Food Institute

The EU Project PhenolAcTwin kicked off on 01 December 2020 under the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute.

The project “PhenolAcTwin- Enhancing Research and Innovation Capacity of TUBITAK MRC Food Institute on Dietary Polyphenols and Bioavailability/Bioefficacy” which was approved within the scope of the EU H2020-WIDESPREAD-2020-5 Twinning Call under the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM Food Institute kicked off on 01 December 2020. PhenolAcTwin is one of the two projects supported within the scope of EU H2020 Calls and coordinated by TÜBİTAK for the first time.

The project partners are CSIC (Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior Deinvestigaciones Cientificas-Spain), QIB (Quadram Institute Bioscience-UK) and INRAE (Institut National De Recherche Pour L'agriculture, L'alimentation Et L'environnement-France).

With the project on bioavailability / bioefficiencies of polyphenols in foods, it is aimed to gain competence in the health effects of foods. The project will allow the highest level of cooperation with national and international stakeholders through trainings, summer schools, technical visits, seminars, workshops and information days to be held in three years. Also, with the project, the "15th International Conference and Exhibition on Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods- ISNFF" in 2022 is planned to be held in Turkey.
